Martin Speaks with Vanity Fair’s Still Watching: Versace Podcast about his devastating turn in the show’s premiere.

Martin spends the rest of the episode grief-stricken and covered in Versace’s blood. In a striking, wordless, and unscripted moment, Martin lets his eternally optimistic mask slip off entirely and he’s fantastic. The gleaming smile gone and eyes sagging with exhaustion, Martin—wearing the personal grief of his own decades spent in the closet—stares at himself in the mirror. “I guess Ryan wanted to use and take advantage of that vulnerability,” Martin said in a new interview for Vanity Fair’s American Crime Story companion podcast, Still Watching: Versace. Approaching Martin after nine hours of filming both the discovery of Versace’s body and a confrontational police interrogation scene, Murphy said, “Rick, come on, let’s go to the bathroom. I want you to stand in front of the mirror. Wash your hands because you’ve been covered in blood for the last 10 hours and give me whatever you can in front of the mirror.” In that moment, Martin says, he was “exhausted, drained, and really sad.”

John Homa was recently on-set coach for Ricky Martin along side Ryan Murphy for The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.

John Homa student, Jessica Garza (Six) has been cast as the female lead along side Former East Los High star Gabriel Chavarria in the upcoming The Purge series for USA Network and Syfy.

"Garzia’s Penelope belongs to a Purge-worshipping cult. Having pledged herself to be sacrificed at the behest of their charismatic leader, Penelope’s faith is tested when she is exposed to the ghastly realities of the Purge."

Meghan Markle Departs USA Network Show, Suits

Former John Homa client, Meghan Markle, officially departed her long time run on USA Network show, Suits.

Luckily, the writers had time to plan Rachel’s exit. “Suits” creator Aaron Korsh told Variety last month that once he saw how happy Markle was in her relationship with Prince Harry, he started making contingency plans.

“I guessed that if she married a prince that she wasn’t going to stay on the show. So we decided, in our hearts, to bank on her finding love and kind of having a fairy tale ending in her own life and assuming that good things were going to happen for her,” Korsh said. “Plus, it would be easier to undo a decision to write her off than it would be to, at the last minute, have to make her leave. She would have to get hit by a bus or something, and I didn’t want to do that.”
