John's students get a one of kind teaching style that is proven time and time again and creates stars at the highest level including Academy Awards.
John Homa began his career in acting over 30 years ago at New York City’s Neighborhood Playhouse, studying directly under Sanford Meisner. The skills, knowledge, and experience he accumulated both in school and starring in off-Broadway plays such as A Streetcar Named Desire, led him to Los Angeles where he worked as both an actor and acting coach.
With the critical success and notoriety that came from coaching Kirsten Dunst on Interview with a Vampire, following this John’s client list expanded to an impressive who’s who of Hollywood stars from Brie Larson, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Michele Williams, Evan Rachael Wood, and even notable music icons turned actors like LeAnn Rimes, Rickey Martin, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, and Common. With the recent Academy Award win of Brie Larson, Michelle’s four Academy Award nominations, the Emmy and Golden Globe nominations from Kirsten Dunst and Evan Rachel Wood, John is proud and incredibly humbled to have personally and professionally impacted some of the most talented and influential artists of this craft. John was the on-set coach for ABC’s General Hospital for eighteens years and a host, judge, and resident acting coach for VH1’s reality competition Scream Queens. He has worked on the set of numerous features including Spanglish, Jumanji, Mrs. Doubtfire, Little Women, and The Rock. Recently, he has been on-set with Ricky Martin shooting the second season of Ryan Murphy’s hit American Crime Story. |
